The LRC delivers informed advice and resources for instructors and language sections looking to advance the assessment of language aptitude. The Center is available to assist in researching, identifying, and developing instruments for the purposes of student assessment, course placement, and other initiatives. We also offer a Language Assessment Center that serves to securely assess student competence outside of the classroom environment. For a downloadable version of the policies for the LAC please click here (PDF).
Currently, the LAC is able to offer limited administrative support and serve as proctors for assessments deployed in Online@UT using the Respondus LockDown Browser™, and in the OWL Testing Software architecture. For more information please contact Douglas W. Canfield via phone: 865.974.6494 or email: email@example.com.
It is critical that faculty serve as the main point of contact for communicating with students about test schedules, as they are the best means for ensuring students meet their obligation to complete assessments early.
